WHAT IS GENESIS?

The beginning...

Actually, Genesis is the youth body of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God: Restoration House in Hamilton, Ontario. We are the beginning of a generation of youths God is building for his glory and to win his people back to him.

It consists of the Co-ordinating Body, Executive Body and the Members,

The mission of Genesis is to raise a people that would make a change and stand for Christ. 
The vision of Genesis is to build a people of Vision, Integrity and Power.

There are 5 subgroups of service: Choir, G.D.T.(drama), G.D.C.(dance), Prayer and Welfare.

OUR PROGRAMS
 

 
Chill Time

This is a single sex meeting.It is held quarterly.This is when the sisters meet to talk about sisterly "stuff"; and the brothers meet to talk about brotherly "stuff". However, they are not held the same week.


Genesis Concert

This is our annual event.
It is held early each year to raise money for the youth on fire retreat.
At the concert, GDC and the drama team perform. Also the choir and members give special numbers. We also invite youth groups and solo acts to perform as well. It is always off-the-hizzle! 
And of course, after the show, there's the after party...right! There's tons of grub for everyone to dig in!
 

Insight

This is a meeting when all the youths meet to fellowship, learn, interact with each other and rub minds on spiritual and practical issues.
Insight is held on a bi-weekly basis on Fridays...that is, every two weeks (with the exception of first Fridays).
It goes from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.



 Straight Talk with Pastor

This is one of the most interesting programs.It is fixed by the Senior Pastor, but usually happens once or twice every quarter.The Pastor comes down to the youths’ level for a down-to-earth rapport and discourse.

 

Welcome Day

This is the meeting held in place of the first insight every quarter.It is to officially welcome new youths to the church, genesis and Canada.There is usually a workshop where professionals from each field come to briefly talk about courses to take in school and challenges to be aware off before entering their fields.
Also past students of C.I.C., McMaster and S.O.C. give advice on how to succeed and excel.
All new and old students are free to ask questions.

 
The Youth Alive Retreat

This is an event that involves all RCCG NA youths.
It is organised to meet new people, build and encourage each other and just to have 100% fun in God's presence.

BRIEFINGS

 A fee of $10.00CAD is paid by each member to the Treasurer on a quarterly basis to raise money for special events such as: picnics, barbeques and trips.

The Executives communicate with the rest of the body via facebook, hotmail, yahoo mail and recently through this website as well.

W.O.W. is the word of the week. It is sent at the beginning of the week for our individual meditation, study and spiritual growth.
